ALLISON'S 30TH!

We celebrated Allison's 30th at our home in Horseshoe Bay. Her sisters planned the surprise and sent the invitations. The attendees included high school and college friends and their spouses, her sisters, and us. The guests arrived on Friday evening and we all went to dinner at sunset at a local favorite On the Rocks and enjoyed dinner on the cliff overlooking Lake LBJ. On Saturday, the group spent the day at the Horseshoe Bay Yacht Club pool and boating. While they were gone we transformed our living room into a beautiful setting for a fabulous dinner party. We began by setting up four seventy-two inch round tables and draping them with white linens that touched the floor. The toppers were white and gold iridescent fabric. We added gold chargers, my grandmother's china, my sterling silver, ivory napkins, and light green crystal wine and water glasses and gold Chivari chairs were added for seating. The tall vases were filled with shades of orange tulips, hydrangeas, and roses. I used brass and crystal serving pieces. The wonderful dinner was catered by Steve Parsons, the owner of Choccolatte's in Marble Falls. He is a good friend whom Allison met while working at the HSB Resort as an intern for her degree program at Texas Tech. We began with a variety of yummy appetizers and champagne and we dined on beef tenderloin cooked to perfection complimented by Pinot Noir. Dessert was a beautiful and delicious Italian Cream Cake from Soulfully Yours located in Indiana. Allison's birthday was the first time I used Soulfully Yours. The cake is baked, frozen, and shipped by overnight shipping as soon as the cake is ready. It arrives fresh and beautiful! The cake was served with champagne. Allison had a wonderful time enjoying friends and family!
